Born from a raw, punk-fuelled attitude towards contemporary design, Thunder Horse Studio is a fierce rebellion against the dull, grey, and safe uniformity that haunts your wardrobe. Rooted in South East England, designer Ellie Skeet honed her craft studying Costume for Performance at the prestigious London College of Fashion. Growing up, deeply drawn to the vibrant culture of Brighton and London’s punk and rainbow communities, Ellie spent years immersed in their energy before diving headfirst into the 2010s underground club kid scene. The heartbeat of Thunder Horse writes a love letter to the gritty, eclectic soul of K Road, Tāmaki Makaurau. A loud, unapologetic response to corporate monotony. It is a direct movement against the binary, championing a sustainable future through responsibly sourced materials and a strict commitment to slow-made fashion. The wearer of Thunder Horse is not a bystander; they are a diva, an exhibitionist, and a performer of sorts, commanding attention in every space they occupy. Blending high fashion with a surreal take on social commentary, the brand’s debut couture collection, "Burn the Rich x Eat the Witch," served as a battle cry against the patriarchy. Calling for unity, using the radical spirits of the punk movement, drag culture, witchcraft, and disco subcultures into a wearable uprising. Thunder Horse Studio is an unbridled Art Haus. Uncompromising in our vision, we aren’t here to make nice garments; we forge armour for you: the bold rebels who are ready to stick your fingers up to the system and let your outfit do the screaming.
